On 15th October 2025, representatives from the ASEC Project conducted a collaboration visit to GatumBiro Farm in Oljoro Orok, hosted by CAPYEI and Oljoro Foods Ltd. The visit, implemented under the Strategic Partnerships component of ASEC, sought to explore avenues for partnership and synergy among key stakeholders involved in youth skills development, agro-processing, and market access.
Discussions during the visit focused on identifying collaborative models for training placements, mentorship, and co-investment opportunities. The partners explored how ASEC’s skills development initiatives could align with CAPYEI’s youth empowerment programs and how Oljoro Foods Ltd could support through mentorship, internships, or employment of trained youth.
Key outcomes of the visit included an expression of interest from CAPYEI to collaborate on youth training programs and the identification of specific areas where Oljoro Foods Ltd could absorb ASEC-trained youth or offer guidance in agro-enterprise management. The discussions also helped strengthen local support for ASEC implementation, paving the way for a more coordinated approach to private-sector engagement in youth-focused agricultural development.
Despite these positive developments, participants noted the need to develop a formal partnership framework and establish a focal coordination team to manage multi-stakeholder collaboration effectively.
The collaboration visit marked a significant step in expanding ASEC’s partnership ecosystem, unlocking new opportunities for private-sector involvement and youth skill application. A follow-up Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is recommended to formalize the commitments and ensure sustainable, results-driven collaboration.
