Lavender Atieno Ochieng is a Kenyan born in the year 1999 on 15th November in Kamagawi village, Rangwe Sub County, Homabay County. She is the fourth born in a family of six. She started her schooling in the year 2004 at Rangi primary school up to the year 2012 when she finished her class eight attaining total marks of 357. Because Rangi was a public school, Lavender didn’t pay any school fees except for the parents’ teachers association (PTA) money, which was mandatory for all the pupils. As a result, her education wasn’t interrupted. In the year 2013, she joined Lwak girls’ high school. Life was not easy since she was being sent for school fees almost every term. By the help of her mum who by then used to brew alcohol, she could get some small money to pay her school fees. Life was not easy as such, she could go ahead and borrow money from relatives who at times could not support fully. By Gods grace, Lavender managed to finish her secondary school in the year 2016 attaining a total grade of B plain of 64 points. She then proceeded to Egerton university where she pursued a Bachelor's program in Environmental Science,and graduated with a First Class Honours in July 2022. Currently she is an Intern and ESIA associate expert at Leads Security Limited consultancy located in Nakuru city .
Lavender always strives to achieve her dreams. She is committed to her work and always ensures that she be the best in whatever she does. She aspires to be role model in the society. Being brought up in a humble family, she knows exactly what it entails to suffer and persevere. She is doing her best in protecting and maintain of biodiversity because she loves nature. Her dreams is to become the best environmental scientist by improving all environmental sectors and maintaining environmental health for better achievement of sustainable development goals.
