TAGDev 2.0 Showcases Climate-Smart Potato Technologies at Nakuru County Farmers Field Day in Molo

The TAGDev 2.0 Program, through the Agrifood Systems and Entrepreneurship Consortium (ASEC) Potato Value Chain, participated in the Nakuru County Farmers Field Day held in Mutirithia, Molo on 5th August 2026. Organized in partnership with the National Potato Council of Kenya (NPCK), the event brought together over 500 farmers, youths, extension officers, researchers, students, and other agricultural stakeholders to promote sustainable agriculture, climate-smart farming practices, and innovative technologies that improve agricultural productivity and livelihoods.

Egerton University, through the Transforming African Agricultural Universities to Meaningfully Contribute to Africa's Growth and Development (TAGDev 2.0) Program, has signed a Cooperation Agreement with Egerton University SACCO Society Limited to operationalize the Savings-Enabled Enterprise Development (SEED) Fund. The initiative seeks to strengthen youth entrepreneurship by providing enterprise financing, mentorship, financial literacy, and access to formal financial services, creating a sustainable pathway for young entrepreneurs to establish and grow resilient businesses.
